Yes, there is a private Airstrip in the Matetsi Private Game Reserve which is an hours’ drive from the lodge. Access is granted by Matetsi. To process a flight plan, a landing Authorisation letter from Matetsi is required.

A 4 x 4 all-terrain vehicle (recommended) can drive all the way to the lodge from the Park Entrance.

Zambezi Sands is owned by Batoka Africa – A female founded and African-owned  luxury hospitality company focused on service, society and sustainability.  The lodge officially opened under Batoka’s ownership in 2021, following a reimagining of the original Zambezi Sands River Camp into a more elevated, wellness-infused luxury experience.

This is earmarked for future developments. However, for those travelling together guests are allocated rooms next to each other.

We are in the process of setting this up, however a visit to the Women of Shingani, our local community of female artisans have handmade items available for sale.

While Zambezi Sands does not feature a dedicated spa or gym facility, guests may enjoy a curated selection of spa treatments in the privacy of their suite or on the deck overlooking the Zambezi River. Kindly provide 24 hours’ notice to allow for seamless preparation and personalized service. This is at an extra cost.

The pools are not heated.

Yes, we do have Wi-Fi connectivity in the main area as well as all guests’ rooms.

Four of our suites are currently equipped with air-conditioning for enhanced comfort. Installation is underway in the remaining six suites, ensuring all guests will soon enjoy climate-controlled luxury throughout their stay.

The lodge is solar powered, with a back-up generator.

All our food ingredients are sustainably sourced locally.

We take in children from 6 years and above.

We are flexible with mealtimes but as a general guideline:

• Breakfast is served from 07:00 am
• Lunch from 12:30 pm
• Dinner from 19:30 pm

Guests enjoy the privacy of individual tables during meals. Communal dining is available upon request, allowing for shared experiences when desired.

We do not follow a fixed daily schedule. Instead, each day is thoughtfully tailored to guest preferences, with our Guest Experience Lead offering personalized recommendations to ensure a seamless and enriching experience.

From the Lodge to the Park’s gate – a Safari Vehicle is used. From the Gate to VFT/Airports – Airconditioned, luxury minibuses are used.

Yes, the Park fee for the Rainforest entrance is included in the rate. However, Park fees for all other activities in Victoria Falls are paid separately.

Yes, US$250 per day subject to availability. For Transfers this is dependent on the pick up/ drop-off points – please contact our Reservations Team.

Do not try to negotiate your way around the animals especially Elephants, Cats & Buffalo. Retreat back to your room or the main area and the Lodge staff will safely take you to your destination.

Our lodge Team is trained to handle emergencies through First Aid training. We also have  24-hour emergency evacuation access with SATIB.

Rainfall primarily occurs during Dec – Mar. The night-time temperatures begin to decrease in late March and by May most of the rainfall is gone.

Winter occurs during Jun – Aug. Nights become much cooler, and the days are clear and often cloudless, with game sighting improving continually. during this period, we encourage guests to pack warmer clothing.

Dry Season (Sep. – Oct.) During, the temperatures rise again, and guests can expect to see some game, as Zimbabwe’s wildlife sightings increase around the Zambezi River due to limited water resources.

Start of Summer (Nov.) During November, despite being hot and dry, you can experience the season’s first rainfall. Average high temperatures are between 33-35 Degrees Celsius and average lows between 15-19 Degrees Celsius.

Luggage allowance varies by flight. Checked baggage is typically around 23kg, while carry-on is usually limited to 7kg. Please check with your airline directly for exact details.
